Idle Thoughts

 October 2011

One month of school is behind us and only eight more to go. Sept. was a good month. Very little rain so the kids were outside for recess. that make it much better through out the day.

The boys are no longer boys. I have to say now they are men. Billy is off living with his girlfriend. No, I do not approve, but there is nothing I can do. He is of age. Branden is still trying to figure out how to get off his backside and get motivated.

October started with a memorial service/ celebration of life for the stepson of my ex husband. This is where we get into being and extended family. It was a nice gathering and lots of nice food. At the gathering I was very pleasantly surprised to see my granddaughter walk in with her 2 children. I haven't seen them for too long. These are my GREAT gandchildren. How about that one? Who would have thought.... Anyway I ended up holding my 4 yr old great granddaughter until I thought my arms would fall off and the old back was broken for sure. But I would not have given up one minute of it.

My sister lost her husband two years ago. On Sunday she brought out her new boyfriend and we had dinner and a great visit. He is very nice and we both like him. I am just so happy that my sister is no longer lost. She is happy.

I am happy that the stream is still up and working. I honestly miss sharing here.

Hugs to all,
Granny Cheryl

Very Not Nice People... (Granny's bitch session)

On Friday night we went to bed as usual and when we awoke we discovered that someone had broken into our garage and stolden some of my husband's tools. The more he looks the more upset he becomes.

Two of the things they took were two things he had just got and was very pleased about having. A nailer and generator, and a weed burning torch. Gone along with many hand tools, wrenches and all him plumbing tools.

Today we went to Home Depot and bought a dead bolt lock for the garage door. Since our garage has a metal door, it took a while for him to install his new lock. We are also talking about closing in the high bay area of the garage.

The other difficulty we are having right now is our poor dogs. Since Monday they have been nervous wrecks!!! I have no problem with fire works on the 4th of July. but around here people do not know what that is. Also we have many illegal fireworks going off around us. Those are not suppose to leave the reservations. HA!! That is a joke. What is worse, the police do nothing about the problem.

Our little dog is sitting on my lap as I type. She is just shivering like mad. It is now midnight and we would like to be able to go to bed. No chance, we are busy comforting our dogs.

Outside of those things, life is good. My husband went to the diabetic doctor and he is doing great. He has lost close to 30 pounds and is very active. He is on a pill, but no insulin yet. I would say that is all good.

I am off work now until the end of August. I should be able to get a few projects done here at home in that time. Anyway I hope so...

Alright, I thing I will close this session. I have done enough unloading and venting for one night. Everyone have a safe and Happy 4th of July.

Hugs to all,
Granny Cheryl

 My Baby Flew Away...

I always thought I would feel sad when Billy decided that he was not going to live here anymore. but happily I am not. He is happy and living with his father. That is something he has wanted forever. Why should I be sad??

He has been getting more and more job oportunities and that is a very good thing. He is a good person and that we are proud of. He will do good.

Branden is still here. He finished his first quarter at college. (Voc Tech). I am waiting to see how the grade are. He didn't sign up for the summer quarter, so it is job time for him.

I am a very thankful person tonight. The Lord answered my prayer. What else could be better??

Hugs to all, it feels good to be writing again.

 Shock

Well this is still here. I am surprised and pleased. So I will leave a message and just maybe someone will see it.

The boys are both busy. Branden has been in Voc Tech for the last quarter. It ends the 16th, then we will see how he did. Billy has been with his father for about the last month. It is hard for me but that is something he really has always wanted. He told Gpa today that he is working so that is good. He has one test left and he will have completed his GED finally. So it is all good.

Gpa is trying to get diabetes. Our doctor told him to loss 50 pounds and maybe he can get this under control. He has lost 30 so far. I am reaping the benefits as I have lost 25 so far. It is so unfair that men loss easier than women. Oh well, we are eating healthier and getting more exercise. That is all good.

School here will be out on the 21st. there is a full blown countdown going on at the school. I think everyone is ready for summer break.

Well, that is what is going on in my world in a nut shell. Like I told Gloria, I miss this writing.

Hugs to whoever,
Granny Cheryl

 Time goes on.

Well, we lost my ex husband's wife. It has been a month. But weall realize that now she is out of pain and free. It is a void, but a blessing all at once.

I spent most of this last month going from doctor to doctor. I wanted to be checked out completely before school started again. I got good news. I am not falling apart. they can find no reason for the hip pain I have been experiencing. Oh joy. AND, I went in and had a real lung evaluation for the first time. I was told I do not have COPD. I have CO asthma.(Never heard of that!) He said it is reactive and possibly partially reversible. Now, that word I really like. but all in all I am in a lot better shape than I thought. So, now I am ready to take on those elementary students and have fun again.

Miss Terri and boys are here visiting for the week. First visit in over a year. We are having fun. We took them fishing and Anthony caught 4 fish and a crab. He was really excited. Skyler still has to learn some patience. We are going to try to take them out on the boat tomorrow. Now do you want to talk about excitement?? They have never been on a boat, except the ferry.

OK, better get to bed. I need to go to work for a few hours tomorrow and get the Kindergarten eready for their open house/meet the teacher night. Should be fun to see everyone.

Bye for now,
Hugs to all,
Granny Cheryl
